Your library is adding new titles all the time--fascinating new biographies, new science fiction, new paperback thrillers, new DVDs… Somewhere among all those new titles are the ones most interesting to you. SelectReads is a service your library provides to let you know when the library adds something you’ll want to know about.
The way it works is pretty straightforward. You tell SelectReads what you’re interested in. SelectReads tells you whenever the library adds something that matches your interest. Because the library always respects your privacy, this is always done anonymously. It’s not tied to your library account and no one is tracking your interests. Your information will never be sold or used to send you marketing material.
The simplest way to tell SelectReads what you’re interested in is to select the broad genres where you most often find what you enjoy. Those broad genres may include any of the following, for example: Mystery and Thrillers, Romance, Parenting and Families, Business and Investing, Cooking, Food, and Wine…
When you’ve selected what you want, you simply give SelectReads an email address. SelectReads will then begin to send you a newsletter each month letting you know what relevant new titles have been added for your selected genres.
If broad genres don’t describe exactly what you’re interested in, SelectReads, offers several other ways to describe your interests, including using very specific subjects, awards lists, and authors. These other ways are described in the “Tuning SelectReads” lesson in this tutorial.
